Shaped Card
I don't make very many shaped cards. For some reason I am drawn more to rectangles and squares! But I recently saw a couple of video by Lily Pad Cards where she had made shaped cards out of Spellbinders Dies. Christina of Creations with Christina also posted a video of one she did the other day. Well, I thought...I need Spellbinders Labels 8. The card Lily Pad Cards made was so cute and I just loved the shape. So I decided to head out to see if I could find it. I went to Joann's...well, as luck would have it although they had a "card" posted they did not have one in stock. I went to Micheal's. Same deal...the card was hanging but after the manager spent 20 minutes looking though each Spellbinder die set he had PLUS rearranged them so they could more easily be located next time he said they did not have one. I went home and find it on Joann.com. But of course, I needed to find another $23 worth of things to buy so I could get free shipping! LOL!
Then I thought to myself, "Susan, you'd better check your dies to make sure you don't have it.". And as is often the case...I already had it! LOL!
So, I made this shaped card with My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline papers, a Hero Arts dotted background stamp that I heat embossed with white embossing powder, Spellbinders Label 8, and stamps from the Blossom Soup Jillibean Soup collection by Unity. I added a little gelly roll pen work to the butterfly and the sentiment to give it a little more sheen and did a little inking with inks by Paper Trey Ink and Jenni Bowlin. I added a bit of Paper Trey Ink twine and was done! FINISHED.
Here are some closeups:
I do like this shape and will definitely use it for a card again!. And I'm glad I didn't buy it again!
Happy Crafting!
So pretty- love the papers and the shape! :)Amy
