Christmas Tags: Part 3

Whoooooeeee.....I have been remiss in blogging this past week.  Life just keeps happening.  Time with the grandkids has been great...we did a photo shoot of our little BullDAWG (UGA) yesterday and here he is:

We had such fun trying to pose him (not successfully most of the time!)...we set him up on a bed....opened the blinds...put a heating pad under him and had a heater on in the room and he just slept most of the time.  Too cute!  But we never could get the really cute Anne Geddes type photos...we would "mold" him and he'd quickly unmold!  LOL!
We had fun, though!  My grandkids are so well documented, you know?  Digital photography has been life changing for me.  My husband says he only has one or two photos from when he was a baby.  My grandkids have thousands!!!  Amazing.  I. Love. It.

Onto Christmas Tags....here are the final four I made at the class I took....uh, two weeks ago!

The tag above was simply done by coloring stamps with markers on a tag cut on the Silhouette Cameo.  The coloring part is not my favorite technique.  Not much into "huffing"...I generally over huff or under huff.  On this tag I over huffed my sentiment a bit so it looks like it says "Merry and Nacht"...should have reduced my huffing and then it might have looked like "Merry and Bright"...like it was supposed to! LOL!

The tag below was done with the cutest little penguin stamp...which we stamped, colored a bit and cut out.  We added a tad of washi tape and some baker's twine and that was it.  Easy.
The third tag for sharing was a favorite....we punched the ornaments with an EK Success punch, stamped the date with a Paper Smooches stamp which we did before embossing it.  Added a few little embellishments and that was it!  I loved the bright and cheerful papers!
The last tag we did was this one:
Again we used some bright Christmasy papers, stamped "December 25" on a word bubble which was punched with an American Crafts punch.  The cute little Santa is an 3D sticker from Petaloo.  CUTE and fast!

That's it for today, my friends.  Thanks for stopping by and...

Christmas Tags: Part II

I shared a few tags I made in the Tag class at Archiver's in my last post and will share a few more today.  I love all of the little tags...they are just pretty darned cute, I think, and I will look forward to slapping them on a gift this Christmas!

Here is the next batch...
I love that tag with the cute little banner made with punches....the little tree punch was so darned cute, too.  And isn't the script on the Paper Smooches "Merry Christmas" sentiment so perfect?  Easy and fun, I say!

The one below was done with a Hampton Arts stamp (the jar) and snowflake and holly punches by EK Success. We used a Corner Chomper for the corners.  Simple to make!

And the last one for today is this cute one with skates die cut out of felt.  The die was from Tim Holtz.  We colored the heels and blades with markers.  Added few metal dots to make it look like the skate grommets.  Too cute and again....very easy!
It is a dreary fall day here today....drizzly and cool.  A perfect day to sequester myself in my crafty space and create!

Oh, and I know you want to see a more current photo of little Wade who turns a whopping 15 days old today.  He was just a mere lad of 13 days when this photo was taken.  His sister and brother have the blackest eyes which were black from they day they were born but Wade's are a different color...still blue.  We expect them to change at some point since both his parents have dark eyes but it is interesting to see different color....

Hope you get some time for some Happy Crafting, too!

Christmas Tags Archiver's Style

I have posted here about how much I enjoy classes I take at Archiver's.  They are not usually very difficult...and sometimes we all learn a few new things or get to play with some new products.  The annual tag class is no exception and I love making all the little tags.

I went with 2 friends...one of whom says she doesn't much care for the Archiver's classes.  I love them....what's not to love?  They do all the hard work and we just stick and glue and embellish and emboss.  And we can get caught up on all our yapping.  And they clean up the mess we make!  So again...what's not to love?  LOL!

Back to the Christmas tags....if I use them for family gifts I make the recipient give them back to me so that I can recycle them the next year.  I am like that.  It's my contribution to the greening of America.  LOL!

Seriously, the tags are generally too cute to toss so why not use them again I ask you?

Since I've taken this class each year for the past few years I think I have more tags than gifts to give.  A good problem to have, I believe....

We made 10 tags...I'll share 3 of those today.

The first was just some popped up paper with a square cut out to make it look like a fireplace.  How easy is that?!  And then we just stuck on some 3d embellishments...those stocking are made out of felt and so cute!

The second one was done with some silver cardstock and a circle punch, a stamped and hand cut tree, a Hero Arts banner stamp which was hand cut and some bling.  Easy and I like the way this little one turned out!

And the third one was done with a tag shape cut with a Silhouette design, some chevron washi tape, a stamped sentiment and a little punched snowflake with a bit of bling.

All were fast and easy!

So we tried to get a photo of me with the 3 little ones, David, Taylor and Wade, yesterday.  About 20 photos were snapped but none was great.  LOL!

We tried "look at Mommy", "put your legs down", "smile", "put your hands down", "put your hands down and smile", "put your legs and hands down and look at Mommy", "open your eyes and put your legs down", "sit up", "sit up and smile",  "open your eyes and smile and stop doing fill in the blank".  LOL!!! It is what it is!
I love these kids!  I've told my daughter that for Christmas I'd like a professionally done portrait of the kids.  Good luck to that professional!

You Are My Sunshine

I do like the look of chevron with dots inspired by Jillibean papers.  You can see my post yesterday for a look at more chevron with just and itty bitty bit of dots!  Say that fast..."itty bitty bit".  :)

After all the rain we've had we have been having some nice sun lately.  The air had gotten a bit cooler...almost felt like fall but now it's hot again.  I like the heat.  I don't like cold weather at all.  I can handle cold and sunny if it's dry but I am miserable when it's cold and windy and wet!  Wah, wah, wah. What a whiner!  I'd rather sweat than freeze any time (well, except when I sleep).

Papers and stamps used are from Jillibean and were sold in an exclusive kit from Archiver's.  The stamps will also work well for Project Life, I think.  They are cute!

Terrible photo....I cropped it all wrong.  It's on a 4 1/2 by 5 1/2 inch card base of white cardstock.  But you get the general idea! :)

Very fast and easy card....

I am entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Dotty

And that will be it for today!

Just For You

I bought an exclusive card kit from Archiver's recently which came with Jillibean papers and stamps.  The kit was designed to make small 3x3 cards but I prefer to make standard sized cards.  I mean...what do you do with a zillion 3x3s?  They are good for gift enclosures but you can't really mail 'em so I don't need a zillion of them around.  I'd prefer to have a zillion standard cards in case I might, some day, want to part with one and mail it.  :)

The Jillibean paper was very nice....chevron on one side and dots on the other.  I liked that.
Anyway, easy card today.  Simple stamping and embellishing....

I ran the white cardstock through my Big Shot with a Stampin' Up embossing folder that makes pinpoint clouds.  Love that folder and was glad to finally use it! HAHA!

The butterfly was stamped and cut and popped up on some dimensionals.  I added a little bling to the body of the butterfly.

And that's it.  Fast and easy.

Best Day Ever!

I DID have the best day every yesterday.  I am lucky.  Life is good.  I have the "Best Day Ever" many days a week!  Saturday was a "best day ever" as I cropped with some good friends for the day. That's always fun and ranks among the "best".
Why was yesterday so good?  My Tuesday morning tennis team (as opposed to my Thursday night or Sunday afternoon teams! LOL!) played a playoff match yesterday and we won!  We have survived 3 playoff matches.  Next stop? City Finals!  The championship level!  Woohooo!!!! Now this is for all of Atlanta!  Sounds grand, doesn't it?  Actually, championships are awarded at each level.  Some play higher than we do....some play lower.  But at our level 20 teams started out and 2 remain!  Us and the team that is going to lose on Tuesday when we play.  HAHA!  I'm so confident! LOL!!! Not really but I think it will be some good and competitive tennis.
Anyway....congrats to my whole team!  We have 15 ladies on this team...and all 15 have contributed to this chance at the championship.  I love these ladies...besides being wonderful tennis players they are fabulous friends!  We have such fun!

OK, on to card making....I took a class at Archiver's recently which focused on selling and yes I bought these oh so wonderful Hero Arts water color looking stamps.  I just love this fun and mostly flat card.  Love the colors and the water color look.  We stuck a little washi tape on for a good measure of fun.

It was so easily duplicated I came home and made another similar one:

Did I say I love these stamps?

Well, wish us luck for Tuesday.....Over my 21 years of playing league tennis I have been to City Finals 7 or 8 times but my teams have only won it once.  I think I'm due for a second one!

More Fun with Unity!

I've had a great time with this little Unity Stamp set.  When stamped these images are just so crisp and clean....no smudging at all!

Here is another fun girly card I made.....I have several friends who enjoy their wine/whine and thought this little stacked wine glass set would make a perfect card.  But I decided to send this to my future daughter in law who enoys a glass of wine from time to time....and is in the middle of wedding preparations and probably needs a little unwine-ding!

I love the little printed paper with the circus themed banner....I think wedding planning can be reminiscent of a circus! LOL!

I added some Enamel Accents to the top wine glass for a little more dimension.

And that's it, my friends!

When Life Gives you Limes...

Well, oh my goodness.....the summer is flying by!  Here we are at July 2nd already.  We are officially halfway through the year.  Before you know it we will be dragging out holiday decorations and I will be grumbling! Bah Humbug!

I've been so busy lately.  I won't bore you with the details but have been spending lots of time with my grandkids....fun, fun, fun...but they DO wear me out!!!

But what better on a hot summer's eve than a nice cold and icy margarita?  Here is another card made with Unity Stamps and an exclusive card kit from Archiver's that I picked up last week.  I have lots of margarita lovin' girlfriends so this card will come in most handy!

Very simply done...just a bit of stamping, coloring in of the word "LIMES" with some Copic Markers and a bit of clear Stickles on the limes although I don't think you can see that here.  Simple and fast.  Fun.  Happy!  I think I want a margarita!

I'm hoping to get into my craft room this evening for a bit of Project Life fun....

Second Batch of Christmas Tags

In my post yesterday I showed 5 of the 10 Christmas tags we made at Archiver's during the class I took Monday night.  They were such fun to make...all worked up pretty quickly.
I generally put my handmade tags on gifts to my family and then I grab them back before they get tossed for recycling! LOL!
Anyway, here is the second group of tags....
I loved this little snowman which we stamped twice and layers.  I also loved the little banner we made with the toothpick.  Too cute!
The round tag below was actually also dry embossed with an embossing folder and then highlighted with a Stardust Gel Roller pen.
OK, the one below was one of my personal favorites because I just loved that punched shape (an EK Success punch) on top of a square piece of card stock that was "Corner Chomped".  I just love the white paper against the red cardstock.  Besides just stamping the "to" and "from" we also just stuck a little gingerbread man on top. Too easy and too cute!

They were all fun to make....I'll look forward to attending again next year!

Tote-owlly Cute!

Here is another card I made at Archiver's....one of my favorites.  It's a little matchbook card.  A few scored lines and folds made this cute little baby.
I just loved that a Martha Stewart punch was used for the owl feathers.  How smart was that?!
Below you can see the matchbook type fold:
The flap was adhered with some velcro.  We punched some circles for eyes and adhered some whopping gems on top.
Simple....yet oh so cute!!!
Hoping to get into my craft room today.  I went downstairs yesterday to do a few things and marveled at how neat it was! LOL!  I forgot I had cleaned it up before I left for my beach vacation.

But first....things to do, places, to go, and errands to run including a trip to the grocery store!

A Whole Week with No Crafting....

....but a whole week at the beach!
Kids, grandkids, hubby and I spent a week on Okaloosa Island in Florida.  Although I didn't get to do any crafting it was the PERFECT week.  We had great weather and the water was clear and fabulous.

But before I left I made a couple of cute little mini cards at Archiver's.
Nothing terribly special in terms of techniques on these.... a little heat embossing...a little punching and mostly just gluing...but they sure turned out cute!

Happy Crafting!  I may need to a few days to recover from my vacation but will get back into my room to create soon! :)
