Birthdays Keep Rolling!

I got into a "thing" making birthday cards the other day using the stamp set included with the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for April.  I make a lot of cards but don't seem to have enough birthday cards on hand and am always struggling to make a card at the last minute. So now I have a bit of a stash! :) I like having a stash. Really.  Now I just need to remember to go to my stash and actually USE them!

And not hoard them.

Anyway, here is the card I wanted to share today:
This was inspired (ok, copied) by a card from Shari Carroll.  Mine is a bit different.  I used different colored inks. LOL!
I did use the incredible MISTI to line up my stamps so that I could easily duplicate the card and yes, 3 were whipped up in no time at all.
The blue and yellow inks are Memento Luxe.  The Make a Wish sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Zing gold embossing powder.
I love the Bazzill kraft cardstock with the gold foil on it.
Fabulous card kit.  It's a keeper!

More Birthday Cards with SSS

This is a shameless copy of a card by Laura Basson for Simon Says Stamp using the stamp set from the April Simon Says Stamp Card Kit.  I love how she slits her cards to reveal something fun or interesting underneath.
Here is my version:
I used Memento Luxe pigment inks...oooh la la...so bright and fun.....and the sentiment was inked with VersaFine onyx ink and embossed with clear embossing powder to make it a bit shiny.

I used MISTI to stamp the sentiment since I made several cards.

Easy and fun!

And that's it for today...a quick post here!

Sending Happy Mail

Happy Sunday, y'all!

Here is another card I made with the papers and stamps from the Simon Says July 2014 card kit.  I do believe this is one of my favorite kits ever....I do adore navy, red, and white together.  Such a great collection of stuff to play with!

Again, since the stamp set, which is so wonderful, retails for $14.99 so the kit which includes all the papers, the cute little stars, the washi tape, the stickers and the stamp pad at a subscription price of $19.99 means everything is practically free! LOL! That's my justification and I'm sticking to it! HAHA!

On a side note...I was telling my daughter about my shopping splurge at Scrapbook Expo and she said "Did you have to sneak the stuff in?"...meaning did I have to get it past my husband without him seeing it.  I laughed and told her "NO!"....I laid all of those goodies smack dab out on the kitchen table so they he could admire them, too.  LOL!  He walked by and looked at them and said "Oh, you got some new toys to play with!".  Love that man!

I made several more cards with this set last night and have depleted my paper for the most part.  I'll be sharing them over the next several days but here is one from that group:

I love the navy background with those teensy hearts on it.  I used a Fiskars punch for the clouds.  I used Memento Luxe inks to stamp the cute little envelopes on some craft paper and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  The sentiment is made up of two stamps from the set and I embossed them with Versamark ink and white Zing embossing powder.  That stuff stinks to me, by the way.
I used some white crochet cotton and twisted it around add a bit of something else and that was it for the card!
Here is a closeup so you can see the dimension:

Hope you all have a Happy Sunday....Happy Crafting and Keep Creating!

Sending Prayers and Love

I look forward to this day every year...Scrapbook Expo is here in the metro Atlanta area and it is time for an annual shopping spree!  I need this.  Since Archiver's closed in the area there just aren't many opportunities for shopping of the latest and greatest paper crafting schtuff.  I love ordering online but let's face it...you can't touch or feel it!

If I find any great things I'll let you all know!

In the meantime here is a card made with the Simon Says Stamp Kit for July.

I loved this kit.  I absolutely adored the stamp set that was included and think it will be a keeper and one I'll use many times.
What I love about the card kits is that you are given a sheet for inspiration...and a host of bloggers usually do a blog train sort of thing and share projects made with the kit but it's not a kit where you are instructed to take paper A and glue it to paper B and stick embellishment C on.  Basically you get a packet of embellishments, some 6 by 6 printed or specialty papers, some 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock that matches, and generally other little treats which might include a marker, an ink pad, some paint...sequins, etc.  My husband says that when my box comes I look like a little kid on Christmas day!  LOL!  Anyway, the kit gives you some supplies but it's up to you to do the magic.

So here is my magic...

I used a Simon Says Stamp postage stamp die to cut out the window.  I stamped the little envelopes with Memento Luxe ink which I embossed with clear embossing powder.  I love the little envelopes and the stamp kit comes with several of them...so cute!
Here's a closeup of the little envelopes:

Well, that's it for today...time to get my shopping shoes on and get outta here!

New Favorites!

I had ordered the Scribbled Flowers stamp set and dies from Simon Says Stamp and they came yesterday.  I had it in my cart and took it out...had it in and took it out.  And, uh, finally left it in.  I'm so glad I did.  I love it!  I love the look of hand drawn things and this one is perfect for that!
Here are the stamps and coordinating dies (if you click on the image it will take you to Simon Says Stamp and the featured set):

And here is a card I made with it which was CASED from a card I saw by the fabulous Shari Carroll.

The "hello" sentiment was from a Lawn Fawn set and the "you're one of my nicest thoughts" came from a Hero Arts set which I heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I love this bright and happy card stamped with Memento Luxe inks and will make more!

Gotta run!

Rainy Day...Time to Play!

It's a wet day here in Atlanta today...a perfect day for some paper crafting! :) Not that I need an excuse, though!

Here are a couple of cards I made last week during my card making marathon.  Both were made with the March Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month.

I used the little stencil that came with the kit and Memento Luxe inks which I "daubed" in for the rainbow and then heat embossed the colors with clear embossing powder for an extra bit of shine.

The second card which was CASED from a card from someone/somewhere (and yes, I did try to look it up but couldn't find the inspiration card) was done with the Martha Stewart scoreboard to give a little embossed dimension to the background layer.  A very simple card.  I. Like. Simple. Sometimes.

Again....all done with elements from the March card kit which you can see here.  I love, love, love the stamp set that came with it.

Of to make and create! (She says with hope!)

Happy Crafting and Happy Sunday!

Keep Smiling!

I hope that today finds everyone happy and healthy and looking forward to a wonderful weekend.  Mother's Day is Sunday and I hope the mothers who read my blog are celebrated by their families!

I made this FLAT card recently using stamps from the Simon Says Stamp Kit of the month for February.  Here is the stamp set....it's a great one, I think!

It's called "Thinking of You" and can be found HERE.

I used a white card base and stamped the dotted border multiple times with Memento Luxe pigment inks in yellow, orange and red.  Then I heat embossed the images with clear embossing powder.  So pretty!  I am not much one for lining things up in repetitive patterns but this was fun and easy and the image stamped so well.  I stamped Keep Smiling and the arrow stamp with some black VersaFine ink and heat embossed it with clear, as well.  I love the sheen.  This is a great card for mailing....no bumps and ridges! LOL!
Here's my card:

and a side view so you can better see the cool embossing:

Very clean and simple, I'd say....

Well, that's it for today!  I need to get in my craft room and finish up a project!

Happy Crafting!
