Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope that you are having a wonderful Valentine's Day!  I am!  I am spending it with my 3 little Valentine's...David (4), Taylor (2), and Wade (4 months).  They certainly fill my heart!

I had to quickly come up with a few Valentine's cards...I had some printed paper and some dimensional heart stickers...all from American Crafts and made these cards very quickly.  I'm always trying to make the quick and easy card and usually fail...these were truly 5 minute specials.  As you can see....but they were cute and fun nonetheless, I thought.

Ok, yeah....like  piece of background paper, a cardstock base, a little strip and a premade dimensional heart sticker.  Can't get any easier.
Then I made this one for Taylor and even stamped a bit (love the OMG I {heart} you stamp!) but other than a few pieces of cut paper...there was nothing to this.  She liked it though...but probably liked the lollipop glued to the outside the best.  ;)

I made the one below for my grandson, David...the little alien, stitched border and the blue design the alien is standing on were stamped with Simon Says Stamp exclusive stamps from the January card kit of the month:
Isn't the little alien cute?  Would have been cuter with some googly eyes but I didn't have any on hand.  Next time....

No chocolate, flowers, or jewelry for me but I do have 3 little tots that fill up my heart and I will take them over all the roses, chocolate (yeah, even over chocolate) and jewelry in the world any day....not just Valentine's Day.

More Fun with Valentine's Day!

I love Valentine's Day.  I love chocolate on Valentine's Day.  I hope someone gives me some chocolate! ;)

Here is another card I made for Valentine's Day.  The circle background is part of a card purchased in the Silhouette online store.  I just cut redid a few things about it to suit my plan for the card.

The printed paper is American Crafts as is the dimensional sticker on the top.

Easy peasy but fun to do.  I love the way the Silhouette effortlessly cut the background.  Zip, zip, zip and it was done!

It is beautiful in my neck of the woods today...off to do a nice walk with the dog!

And although this doesn't have anything to do with papercrafting or Valentine's Day... isn't this pretty?

Happy Crafting and Happy Sunday!

Things Girlfriends Say....

We girls have perfected the art of communication...especially with each other.  We know how to pump each other up..."I LOVE your hair", "That skirt is so slimming", "I love what you did in your living room", etc.  :)

I saw this stamp set from Art Impressions at Archiver's a few months back and just fell in love with it....it is soooo the things we talk about!  LOL

I used the same (yay, me) American Crafts With Love papers I've used several times in the past few posts!  I colored the little ladies with Copics but paper pieced the hat and swimsuits with papers from the same paper pad.  To get the ladies in a large circle I had to make it 4 1/4 inches so ended up with one of my most unfavorite sized cards....the 6 by 6 but I LOVE the way it turned out!  "My, Susan, I LOVE what you did with this card!" LOL!

I didn't photograph the inside of the card but it says "Friends always know just the right things to say!"
I hope you have some friends that know just the right things to say to you, too!

Project Life: Week 7

I'm doing the happy dance!  I just finished Week 7.  I actually finished it up yesterday except I needed to get one more 4x6 printed...I'm sort of wishing I had a GOOD yet portable....maybe wireless...printer.  Oh well....for now I am having a very good relationship with CVS!

I did finish my Project Life Week 7!  Wahoo....that makes 7 down and 45 weeks to go!  OK...so at the end of this process am I going to have 4 volumes for 2013??? ...I am rethinking the whole digital vs. paper thing for 2014 if I should continue!  LOL!

But for now I'm still having fun, cutting, gluing, pasting....AND corner rounding!

Here are my pages...all done with American Crafts With Love papers and embellishments:
The "Week" box on the top left was made with my trusty Silhouette Cameo.  I created the box and welded a couple of heart shapes to it...and then I cut the banner out (I do love a banner!) and overlaid the letters so it would cut them out, too....in one fell swoop of the Cameo cut!

The bottom right filler card is also a cameo cut and was done to go on with my Valentine theme of the week.  I tired all different kinds of paper prints but finally settled on white with a little color under it.

As I mentioned the papers and embellishments are American Crafts...a line exclusive to TARGET!  I made several Valentine's Day cards with these papers and decided to use them for this week's Project Life.  I happened to be in Target the other day and the buttons and little flag on the top right were on clearance.  Loved it!
And here is the right side:
I continued to go wild with the Cameo and made the little speech bubble box on the left side of my granddaughter's picture.  I just created the box and then took an oval and welded it with the little directional thingy....and then welded again to the box.  So fast and simple.  The shape between the two pictures of Taylor is a cut file from the Silhouette Online store....I did nothing to it except cut it ou and then added a button.  Here's a closer shot of it.
I forgot to take a photo of the bottom left journaling box but it also a cut from the Silhouette Online store as was the word "love".  All so appropriate for Valentine's Week!

Hope this next week is a good one for you all and that you have a week of...

HAPPY CRAFTING!

OMGosh....Amazing!

I know, I know....I am boring when it comes to the Silhouette.  I go on and on about what a wonderful cutter it is and my ramblings get a bit boring.  I am a long time owner of the Cricut....I had the original "Little Bug" and I still own 2 (TWO!) Expressions with a Gypsy and dozens of cartridges.  I love the Cricut....I love the idea behind it but I will now say it outloud....the quality of the Silhouette cutting is superior to the Cricut.  I said it.  That's my opinion and probably not worth much but there it is.
Take this card for example....this is a file designed by the great Samantha Walker. She is an amazing lady who designs all kinds of things including Spellbinder dies, stamps, papers, and files for the Silhouette and other cutters.  Her designs can be so intricate....I was sorta hesitant to buy one thinking...ok it looks great online but will it really cut?!
I did have to put a new blade in my Silhouette but this is what I ended up with...is this amazing or what?  This is the outside of the card which measures 6x6.  Check out those teensy stars and the beautiful flourish!
Look how pretty that lettering is....and that flourish...my, my, my!
And here is the inside of the card:

I hear you saying "Wow!".  I hear it all the way here in Georgia.  In case you forgot to say "wow"...here is a close up photo of the inside:
Amazing, huh?  Told you!

Happy Crafting!

(PS Sentiment is from Hero Arts...Paper is American Crafts.)

Cutest Photos Ever!

My daughter made me an 8x10 collage of photos (mostly taken with her iPhone) of my adorable grandson, David.  They are some of our favorite photos....and all were taken before he turned 2.  I just can't believe he will be 3 in just a couple of months!  That boy is growing like a weed.

The collage was on my refrigerator door for a long time but then I went through a "get everything off the refrigerator" moment and took it down.  And then...what to do with it?  Why slap it on some scrapbook paper, of course.

Here's my layout.  Made with My Mind's Eye products:

I would call it Clean and Simple...not much adornment on it...letting the pictures speak for themselves since there are so many of them!
I added a couple of glitter brads from We R Memory Keepers for the hubcaps of the vintage surfin' car!
The little glitter button is from American Crafts and the bakers twin is We R Memory Keepers.

Wow...1st day of August!
