And a Very Belated Happy Valentine's Day to You!

Oh my....I so meant to post yesterday to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day but the day got past me.  My Valentine was here with me and we were able to spend a nice day together doing a hike and going out for a nice meal.

A friend of mine got a Tiffany necklace.  I as jealous of that.  No jewels for me.  LOL!

But I did make a few exploding box cards for my kids from a file by Lori Whitlock which I found in the Silhouette store.  I think they are so cute and were so much fun to make.  I think Lori does and amazing job on her files...they always go together perfectly!

Here is the first one:
I used BoBunny papers....love the frogs and ladybugs and other little critters!  Isn't it adorable?  Look at that folded envelope.  So sweet!

My friend and fellow creative person (she is über creative...amazing what she does!), Debbie, was here with me for a few days and she enjoyed making one, too.

Here are two other versions...the one Debbie did is on the right:
So much fun!  On to the Silhouette Store to see if they have one for St. Patrick's Day! ;)

I don't know what got into me but I was on a card making frenzy today! I made over a dozen cards.  Yep, they were all pretty simple...but that is probably a world's record for me!!! It was so fun and I had a great time playing in my happy space.

The two cards I'm sharing today were made with the December card kit from Simon Says Stamp.  How much I loved these colors and the fun paper patterns and die cuts that were included!

Here was a snowman popped up on some foam tape.

Kind of a whacky looking snowman but I loved him! and the Geotag was just a fun touch, you know?

And here is another one:

I thought the "slides" were so cute!.  I took a few patterned papers and made a few banners and embossed thanks on one of them
Lots of layers but easy to do!

I Love You More...

Here is a card I made with the Simon Says Stamp Card Kit for August 2014.  I loved these happy little ice cream and popsicle stamps.  Too cute!

So many cute stamps!

And here is my card:

And I do love ice cream a lot!

I also love the backgroundpaper...the chalkboard look with a touch of summer from BoBunny.
I colored with Copics and cut out my little ice cream cone.

And that's about it.  I won't bore you with how I cut circles! LOL!

You're So Cool-Take Two!

Oh my....a second post for today!  I don't usually post twice in one day!  If you are here to see Project Life...scroll on down!

I posted a card the other day with the Ice Cream Dream stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.  It's such a cute set...filled with all kinds of frozen novelties.  I love frozen novelties...my favorite?  The Outshine Pineapple Bars.  80 calories of goodness.  Chunks of pineapple.  Yum.  I eat them. All. The. Time.  Like.Two.A.Day....  HAHA!
Here's a card I made which I colored in with Copics....cut out and mounted on some foam tape.  I love the "you're so cool" sentiment...love that hand drawn look.  Anyway, I cut the white mat and the burlap mat with a Spellbinder die.  The burlap is the paper back burlap from DCWV which I picked up on sale (yay!) at Joann.  It cuts so well....burlap side up or burlap side down.  And I thought it gave a fun look to my card.  Something different, you know?

The background paper is BoBunny Lemonade Stand papers...so cute!
Here is another view!
And I added some Wink of Stella Glitter to the cone which apparently isn't showing up in my photo!  But maybe that's why the cone colors look sort of streaky...they don't look that way in real life.  At least not to my eye.

:)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone!  Besides the importance of this day in Christianity it is also a reminder to me that the wedding is only 6 days away!  Crunch time.  I have put off cleaning my house as long as I can.  Oh no...wait...no cleaning on Easter...it will begin tomorrow!

Here are a couple of Easter cards I made with the same set from Mark's Finest Papers that was gien to me by a friend I used in my last post.

Both were colored with Copics but the top one I wanted to add some Wink of Stella and added pink to the flowers which covered up my oh so perfect coloring (LOL! NOT!).

On the bottom card I used the Tiny Tag die and stamp from Paper Trey Ink as well as some brightly color BoBunny paper.

Off to do a few things:
1. Make deviled eggs.
2. Begin Pre-wedding stress

I have already begun item #2, of course.

Happy Easter and Happy Crafting!

Project Life: Week 51

I'm finishing...I'm finishing....
I actually have finally completed weeks 51 and 52 for Project Life.  That is a major accomplishment for me and I'm proud of it...and I am most happy to say "I'M DONE"!  Well, not quite done...as I have an insert layout or two to finish and I do need to complete some touches to make it totally done!

But it's getting there.  And as I struggle to close out 2013 I am getting behind with 2014! LOL!!!

If it weren't for 3 cutie pie kiddos who are growing way to fast and a huge event for us this year with the wedding of my son...well, I just might skip 2014 altogether!  But no...

I was not at home when I did this layout so I didn't have my huge stash of stuff and made do with what I had on hand.

I used some papers from BoBunny...and now I realize I have a whole 6x6 pad so maybe when I get a chance I'll add a few things!  Who knows...?

Here is the left side:

I used my Silhouette to cut out "Week 51" with the Impact font.

I love the photos on this page...especially the one of my son in law holding the baby and both are fast asleep.  I also love the photo of me reading to the children...they do love books and stories.  And I love, love, love all the ladies in the top photo...what great times we have together! (These are the ladies I play tennis with...although a few were missing!)

Here is the right side:
What great stories these photos tell!
I made the journaling card by cutting out the one panel and then layering it with some foam tape.  I added a button and some ribbon to spiff it up a bit! ;)

I added a little ribbon  to the following journaling card in another attempt to "spiff" it up!  LOL!
And that's if for today, my friends!

Hello Friend!

This will be a busy week with little time for crafting.  No complaints here, though...my best friend of all time is here to spend some time with me!

Here is another card made with the same Tim Holtz blueprint set I used the other day although this time I used the camera.  So cute and I think I will just have to find a way to include that in some Project Life pages.  I think it's a great little stamped image!  I used BoBunny Mama-razzi papers again.  They are so much fun!

Here you go....
A little inking...a little stamping...a little cutting....
I did use a few rounds of some cording I have and tied a few random knots in it.
I entered this in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes.

Hope you all have a great day and rest of the week!

Peace

The holidays can be decidedly stressful for some.  We set our expectations way too high for ourselves and if we fall short or think we are falling short we let the stress get to us.  I probably used to be that way when I tried to make the perfect Christmas for my kids! LOL!  But now both are grown and have their own homes and I no longer feel stressed.  I have passed it on as a good mother should do!  My son does not feel stress yet over the holidays....well, he saves his for Christmas Eve when he finally goes shopping! HAHA!

My daughter put up 5 trees this year....3 full sized trees including a big 9+ one that is gorgeous and then two smaller trees for her children's rooms.  Her house is so pretty and festive!  But I think she actually does well handling the stress and it probably helps that she is a stay at home mom and has a bit more time in the house than I did when my own children were small.

Anyway...peace.  The holiday season should be a time of peace where we can look around and really take the time to enjoy the beauty around us.  I love Christmas lights and decorations....I think all the pretty lights and display helps to make a drab season beautiful.

So here's my card for today...Peace....with a cute little deer frolicking through the snow.

The stamp set I used is by Hero Arts and was one I picked up recently at Michael's with a buy one get one deal.  Love that.  Saving money makes me peaceful! :)  I used BoBunny papers and pieced the little deer and tree.  Used some enamel accents on the deer's nose, eyes, and sweater. I hand cut the snow.  I embossed the sentiment with some silver embossing powder.
I stamped the tree twice and cut it out....the first layer is flat against the card and the second layer was adhered just down the trunk and then curled up a bit.  I love the way that turned out!  Peace.....

A Time of Thanks

So much to be thankful for and I'm happy for a day of thanks.  I'm looking forward to seeing how my Tree of Thanks which can be seen HERE will be received by my family.  My daughter saw it the other day and she liked the idea....no rolling of the eyes!  So there is promise here... :)

I made another Thanksgiving card to send to someone dear to me and for whom I'm grateful each day.

I used the acorn from the Tim Holtz Autumn Blueprint set. Once again I used BoBunny Apple Cider papers.  A little Distress Ink and tearing to scuff up the edges and a good layer of Rock Candy Stickles on the acorn top with some twine tied around the acorn and that was basically it.

I'm happy.

I'm off to a craft show today and then to a tennis match.  The weather looks great!

A Day of Thanks

I whipped up this little card to send to a friend.  I love the way it turned out!  Lots of fun making this one and, for me, it came together fairly quickly (READ: not many mess ups along the way!).
I used the BoBunny paper as the background and then I used the Hero Arts newspaper stamp to create the torn vintage looking mat to the leaf.  I had fun inking, tearing, and generally messing it up!  The leaf stamp is from one of the blueprint stamps that Tim Holtz has designed.  I love these stamps and the quality is so good...they just stamp perfectly each time.  I stamped on my mat with some Distress Ink and then stamped it again on some ivory Neenah cardstock and cut out the leaf after going to town with some distress inks to color it.
The "ribbon" is some seam binding that I inked up.
And then I used a little wax seal to finish it off.

Inside I stamped the sentiment which is "A dat of thanks" which was from a Close to My Heart set.
This was a wonderfully fun card to make....I loved dabbling in all the inks!

Birthday Wishes

I recently joined the stamp club at The Stamps of Life.  Stephanie Barnard, the owner and designer of The Stamps of Life creates some very cute images.  The monthly set for October is called Postage2Stamp and can be seen HERE.  One of the stamps is of a cute little puppy which looks so much like my Isabella.
Isn't she sweet?  (NOT...she's a holy terror!)....LOL!
Anyway, back to stamping.  I made this little birthday card for my friend Melissa who had a birthday yesterday.
The dotted paper is BoBunny.  I used Memento and Stampin' Up inks and colored the little puppy in with some Tim Holtz Distress markers.  A die will be coming out in the shape of the postage stamp later in the month (Stephanie releases new stamp sets on the 1st and 7th of the month with new dies on the 20th).  I cut the postage stamp out and then used a little 1/4 inch round punch to punch out the little rounded edges.  It's not perfect but I'm happy with the way it turned out...but yes, I will be ordering that die! This way of cutting is a little too labor intensive! :)

Here's a closeup of the cute little puppy.  I just love her.

Family and Friends

I had a wonderful day with friends yesterday...we scrapbooked at Archiver's....lots of sharing and laughing.   Loved my time with my friends.

Last week my kids came to my house for home cooked meal.  My son brought his friend, D'Ann and we enjoyed meeting her and getting to know her a bit.

I did this layout with the BoBunny Alora line...so pretty...bright and cheerful!  I used some chipboard stickers and gems to spiff it up a bit.

I love this very happy line from BoBunny.  When I go away for a crop I can't take everything I own with me so now I look at my layout and think...well, maybe I could add a little ribbon....LOL!
Oh yeah, I blurred out the last name in Photoshop Elements to protect the lives of the innocent!
