A Quick Card!

I am off to visit some family out of town today.  I'm meeting up with my daughter and we will pick up my son and head to a small mill town about 2 hours from Atlanta.  Of course, the grandkids will be there, too, which always makes for a great day for me!
Here is the card I made yesterday after I finished the layout with the print and cut images (which if you have not seen...then scroll on down! :)).
I used Pure Poppy cardstock from Paper Trey Ink as the base, a piece of white embossed with the Cuttlebug Diamond in the Rough embossing folder.  The white was trimmed into a pinking shears looks with a Paper Trey Ink die.  The flowers are an old set I have from Rhona Farrer.  I stamped them with Versamark on vellum and then sprinkled 3 colors of Adirondack embossing powders on and then heated the heck out of them with my, I mean heat gun.  I stamped the "Thanks!" sentiment with a Hero Arts stamp and embossed it, as well.  Added a little Hero Arts Gems and Pearls to the flowers and was done.  I did like the translucency of the vellum with the embossing powders but they do flake off easily so you have to exercise a bit of care when cutting.

Well, time to get going!

Happy Crafting!

  2. I like the use of vellum. Especially like the colors on the flowers & the pinked shear edge.

  3. Hope you have a wonderful visit with family. Love those flowers and stamped on vellum always gives a dramatic effect.

  4. Love it Susan. The colours are so bright. Never tried it on velum with embossing. Enjoy your family visit

  5. Oh my goodness, Susan! This is more than "kinda cute." It's really, really good!!

  6. Beautiful the velum flowers.

  7. Hi Susan, loving this card... so after having the cameo for awhile now on a scale of 1-10 how do you rate it?
Have a great time with your grandkids.

    1. Hi Judy! I'm really loving the Silhouette. I'd give the quality of cuts a 9.5. I really do like it and I wonder why it took me so long to get it!

Thank you so much for leaving a comment. I appreciate the time it took you to leave me a note and I will enjoy reading it. Happy Crafting!
